Heidar Helguson has had a setback in his bid to overcome an ongoing groin problem.
The QPR forward has suffered an adverse reaction following his recent return to training and could be sidelined for the remaining matches of the season.
Helguson’s condition will be assessed early next week in order to determine whether he might be available for either of his team’s final two matches.
He will certainly miss Sunday’s derby at Chelsea, where Rangers may also be without Samba Diakite and Djibril Cisse.
Midfielder Diakite has missed training because of illness, while striker Cisse is nursing a knee problem and faces a fitness test ahead of the game at Stamford Bridge.
