QPR assessing Smith ankle injury
QPR are assessing an ankle injury striker Matt Smith has picked up in training.
The target man suffered the injury on Thursday and is a doubt for Saturday’s home game against Stoke City.
By Friday morning he looked increasingly unlikely to be fit enough to be included in the squad for this weekend’s match.
Rangers are looking to arrest a slump which has seen them lose eight of their past nine league matches and drop to 18th in the Championship table, nine points above the relegation zone.
On-loan Stoke midfielder Geoff Cameron is back in training after an ankle injury but is ineligible to play against his parent club.
Cameron, whose Stoke contract runs until 2020, has told West London Sport he would like to return to QPR on loan next season.
