No offers yet for QPR keepers

QPR have so far received no approaches for Joe Lumley or Liam Kelly.

Rangers want one of the goalkeepers to go out on loan ahead of Friday's deadline and clubs have been made aware of their availability.

But as of Wednesday morning there were no firm offers.

Neither were convincing last season and Seny Dieng has now been given a chance to establish himself.

Dieng, who spent last season on loan at Doncaster and recently signed a new contract, has impressed in his first two Rangers appearances.

He has leapfrogged Kelly, who has three years remaining on his QPR contract.

Lumley’s future is in some doubt as his contract expires next year and he has lost his place after a series of poor performances.

It leaves QPR facing an awkward choice between giving a contract to a keeper who might not regain his first-team spot, and averting the prospect of losing him on a free transfer next summer, possibly with his form having improved by then.

Talks have taken place about a new deal for the 25-year-old but Rangers have also been open to offers for him.

No offers came in - although there was interest from Birmingham - so it was decided that he or Kelly would be allowed to leave on loan.

But time is running out to ship them out ahead of Friday's deadline.

QPR look set to keep BOS and Manning

There have still been no approaches for Bright Osayi-Samuel nor Ryan Manning.

Osayi-Samuel appears to be close to agreeing new contract.

The winger’s current contract expires next summer and he has rejected previous offers of a new deal.

He has been linked with several clubs but so far the only firm offer has been from Club Brugge.

There has been much speculation over the futures of Osayi-Samuel and Manning

Crystal Palace considered matching that £4.7m bid but decided against doing so.

Contract talks with Osayi-Samuel resumed after he turned down the move to Belgium.

There has been steady progress during negotiations and for some time QPR have been increasingly hopeful that Osayi-Samuel would put pen to paper.

Rangers have been eager to point out that Ebere Eze signing a long-term contract proved to be no barrier to a Premier League move - he recently joined Crystal Palace.

There has been some progress in talks with Manning but there remain serious doubts over whether it will lead to an agreement.

Manning, whose contract also expires next year, has not been selected by manager Mark Warburton for Rangers' opening Championship matches because of the uncertainty over his future.

Manning has also been linked with a host of clubs, including West Ham, but there has been no sign of any concrete interest in him.

Loan moves lined up

There has certainly been interest in Paul Smyth and Conor Masterson.

Charlton are currently in pole position to sign Smyth on loan and Rangers are also ready to loan out Masterson if they bring in another centre-back. Several clubs are interested in the Irish defender.

Rangers want a left-sided central defender and enquiries have been made about a number players, including Fulham’s Michael Hector and Cardiff’s Aden Flint.

But on Tuesday evening a deal to sign Flint was looking highly unlikely, while several other Championship clubs have shown an interest in Hector since he was recently left out of the Fulham side.

Masterson was picked up after being released by Liverpool

Plans to loan Masterson out last January were scrapped after he broke into the first team and impressed.

But Warburton has since been concerned that the youngster's encouraging run of games might result in Masterson - who had not made a senior appearance prior to his arrival from Liverpool last year - missing out on vital first-team experience by remaining on the fringes of the Rangers side rather than going out on loan.

Kelman is one for the future

QPR will formally complete the signing of teenage striker Charlie Kelman from Southend United later today.

Kelman, 18, has agreed a three-year contract with the option of a further year and will initially play for Rangers’ development side.

He has some first-team experience, having made 31 league appearances and scored six goals for Southend.

But QPR see him as one for the future - similar to when they signed Bright Osayi-Samuel, Ebere Eze and Ilias Chair.

The plan is to assess Kelman’s progress in January and send him out on loan unless he develops faster than anticipated and has broken into the first team by then.
