Keeper Mahoney’s loan move in doubt
QPR goalkeeper Murphy Mahoney’s planned loan move to Walsall is in doubt.
A deal was agreed for Mahoney, 21, to join the League Two club for the rest of the season.
However, fellow R’s keeper Joe Walsh has picked up a knock and that could now lead to Mahoney’s move being called off.
Injuries to Rangers’ other keepers meant Mahoney made two first-team appearances last season.
Meanwhile, QPR are assessing Kenneth Paal after the left-back went off injured during the 3-0 defeat at Hull.
Paal went down clutching his knee just before half-time and was withdrawn after trying to play on.
Jake Clarke-Salter came on and played in his place, with Rangers boss Neil Critchley opting against using Niko Hamalainen, who could well be on his way out of the club.
Paal has been a consistent performer this season since his arrival from Dutch side PEC Zwolle in the summer.
“Kenneth just felt the side of his knee and we wanted to get him to half-time because we didn’t want an unnecessary stoppage,” Critchley said.
“He took a whack on it and we’ll just have to see how he is in the next couple of days.”
Rangers were also without injured right-back Ethan Laird, and also Lyndon Dykes, who was admitted to hospital with suspected pneumonia on Friday.
“He’s OK. He’s been in hospital the last 24, 48 hours,” said Critchley.
“He’s on medication so hopefully we get some good news in the next 24 hours.”
Tyler Roberts went off in the second half with what appears to be a hamstring problem and Ilias Chair also picked up an injury in the final minutes but hobbled through to the end of the game.

And I thought they had seen sense and were referring to Sinclair. Wake up Sir Les and smell the coffee.
