Perch passed fit to return for QPR
James Perch has been passed fit for QPR’s game against Reading on Saturday.
West London Sport recently revealed that Perch was on course to return to action straight after the international break despite earlier fears he had suffered a long-term knee injury.
The 30-year-old was stretchered off during Rangers’ 6-0 thrashing by his former club Newcastle and the club initially believed he faced a long spell on the sidelines.
He injured his ankle as well as his knee, but scans showed no serious ligament damage and Perch responded well to treatment.
Joel Lynch was called upon for the win at Fulham
His return is a timely boost for Rangers as he gives them an option at left-back, where he has produced some of his best performances since being signed from Wigan last year.
Joel Lynch played there against Fulham because Jake Bidwell and Jack Robinson are both sidelined.
Lynch is primarily a central defender, so Perch is in contention to start against the Royals.
Bidwell latest
Bidwell has had surgery after suffering a dislocated shoulder during QPR’s recent draw at Burton.
Rangers believe the summer signing from Brentford will be available before Christmas.
Robinson, meanwhile, hopes to return to full training in the next couple of weeks.
Sandro has been struggling for fitness this week and will be assessed before manager Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink selects his squad for the Reading game.
Ben Gladwin is back in training following his recent injury.
