QPR are interested in signing former Tottenham youngster Nathan Oduwa after he impressed during a recent trial.
The 22-year-old, who is primarily a winger but can also play in the middle, is a free agent, having left Olimpija Ljubljana in July. He joined the Slovenian club after being released by Spurs last year.
This hasn’t been a great campaign for the Rangers, however. Stuck in the middle of the Championship table, QPR are not destined for glory this season.
As a consequence, the latest odds offered by new betting sites for the remaining QPR Premiership matches range from below to slightly above average.
Oduwa did not make a senior appearance for Tottenham but did play first-team football during loan spells at Glasgow Rangers, Luton, Peterborough and Colchester.
He is well known to QPR technical director Chris Ramsey, who previously coached at Tottenham, and he could be set to join the ex-Spurs contingent at Loftus Road.
The likes of Grant Hall, Aramide Oteh, Chris Paul and Charlie Owens have signed for the R’s and several others have had trials since being released by the north London club.
The Camden-born Oduwa represented England at youth level but has since played for Nigeria’s Under-23 side.
Meanwhile, former Tottenham defender Sebastien Bassong is still training with QPR while he searches for a new club.
Rangers manager Steve McClaren currently has no plans to sign Bassong, who has featured in recent Under-23 games.
