QPR hopeful duo will be fit to face Stoke
QPR are hopeful Joey Barton and Jordon Mutch will recover from hamstring problems in time for Saturday’s home game against Stoke.
Both midfielders missed the 4-0 defeat at Manchester United at the weekend but trained on Thursday and are expected to be passed fit to face Mark Hughes’ side.
Rangers boss Harry Redknapp said: “Joey’s had a bit of a hamstring problem so we’ll have a look at him. Jordon Mutch is the same. Hopefully they’ll be okay.”
Summer signing Eduardo Vargas is also expected to be available despite requiring stitches after a clash of heads while playing for Rangers’ development squad in midweek.
The Chile forward, who came on as a substitute against United for his debut, scored in the game against Millwall’s Under-21s but did not appear for the second half.
“He had some stitches in his head but he’s okay and he trained yesterday,” said Redknapp.
