Park Ji-Sung has confirmed his retirement following a persistent knee problem.
The South Korean, 33, spent last season on loan from QPR at Dutch club PSV Eindhoven, who sold him to Manchester United in 2005.
Park won four Premier League titles at United but was unimpressive after moving to Loftus Road on a two-year deal in 2012.
He was one of several high-profile players who failed to perform for Rangers as they were relegated from the top flight last term, and he returned to PSV for what he planned to be his last season before quitting.
“I am leaving with no regrets,” he said
“I enjoyed playing football and have achieved more than I thought I would.
“I’m truly grateful for all the support I have received and I will live the rest of my life thinking how I can pay it back.”
