QPR have seen a planned move for Sheffield Wednesday’s Sam Winnall seemingly crumble ahead of Thursday’s transfer deadline.
The R’s are keen to sign a striker and at one stage it seemed that Winnall, 26, was on his way to Loftus Road.
However, a deal could not be struck and, as the deadline approached, Rangers were looking less likely to add a striker to their squad.
But they have made breakthrough in negotiations with Blackpool over winger Bright Osayi-Samuel, with a deal now appearing to be in place.
Winnall joined Wednesday from Barnsley a year ago. He scored their goal in QPR’s recent 1-1 draw at Hillsborough.

Only a week ago we had a defensive crisis with long term injuries
But all we are signing are strikers
