QPR defender Kakay set to miss remaining games
QPR defender Osman Kakay is expected to miss the rest of the season with a knee injury.
Kakay was taken off during the home defeat against Birmingham a month ago.
Initial scans suggested the injury was not serious. But he has now been all but ruled out of Rangers’ remaining matches of the campaign.
Meanwhile, Jake Clarke-Salter and Tim Iroegbunam could return to the side for Wednesday’s vital match against Norwich.
Clarke-Salter has missed much of the season since being signed on a free transfer last summer after being released by Chelsea.
He has started just 12 matches for the R’s and his most recent appearance came in a 1-1 draw at Huddersfield in early February.
But Clarke-Salter recently returned to full training and might feature against Norwich – possibly at left-back.
Iroegbunam has also returned to training after a recent injury and boss Gareth Ainsworth hopes to include him in the squad.
Tyler Roberts, who was named on the substitutes’ bench for Saturday’s loss to Coventry, reported an injury in the warm-up so was not involved.
Ainsworth explained: “Tyler was down as a substitute and unfortunately he pulled up in the warm-up.
“That was tough to take. We wanted extra forwards and Tyler is a good forward.
“It was difficult because I wanted to maybe stick him on at some stage and see what Tyler has been giving us in training – he’s been looking quite good.
“Hopefully he might be involved on Wednesday. It would have been a risk to put him on on Saturday.”
