Dembele and Andersen could return for QPR

Karamoko Dembele and Lucas Andersen could both return to the QPR squad for Saturday’s game at Portsmouth.

Dembele has been out with a knee injury since October, while Andersen has not featured since going off with a calf injury during the 1-1 draw against Norwich in December.

They recently returned to full training and head coach Marti Cifuentes will decide on Friday whether to include them for the trip to the south coast.

Cifuentes said: “It’s their second week training with the team, which is always a positive signal.

“When we speak about (previously) injured players it’s not just about whether they are fit but also whether they are ready to compete.

“We need to make sure that they are ready to really contribute. But both of them are showing really good things in training and we’re going to take a decision in the next hours.”

Meanwhile, striker Zan Celar is still working his way back to fitness following a hamstring injury.

Cifuentes explained: “Zan is still in the recovery process. We’re waiting for some results from a specialist, but he’s progressing well. He will soon be starting on the (training) pitch.”
