Jose Bosingwa has been left out of QPR’s squad for Saturday’s friendly at Peterborough and appears to be close to leaving the club by mutual consent.
Rangers are hoping to reach an agreement for the much maligned full-back, 32, to depart Loftus Road in the coming days.
He will not be considered for this weekend’s game or the club’s pre-season trip to Austria.
Bosingwa is a hugely unpopular figure among QPR fans following a series of dismal displays last season, compounded by his refusal to be a substitute for December’s derby against Fulham.
He was fined by manager Harry Redknapp and he subsequently apologised.
Signed on a Bosman free transfer after being released by Chelsea last summer, Bosingwa has two years of his contract left to run.
But Rangers chiefs have made it clear he is not wanted at the club and are trying to bring about his departure.
