QPR youngster Osman Kakay could join Newport County or Port Vale on loan in a late deal ahead of the transfer deadline.
Kakay, 21, has long been among the fringe players Rangers have been lining up for loan move during this month’s transfer window.
And attempts to secure the right-back a chance to play first-team football elsewhere were continuing in the final hours of the transfer window.
Kakay has made seven appearances for QPR this season but has not featured in the league since September.
He has previously been on loan at Chesterfield and Scottish side Livingston.
Earlier on Thursday, midfielder Ilias Chair completed loan move to Stevenage.
