QPR have cooled their interest in Dylan McGeouch.
The Scotland international midfielder, whose Hibernian contract expires this month, is among a number of players the R’s have been tracking.
He was identified as potential signing should an offer come in for one of QPR’s midfielders after the end of last season.
With no offer having been received, and with McGeouch needing to resolve his future, Rangers have indicated that they are no longer an option for him and are not in a position to make him a concrete offer.
Several other clubs, including Brentford, remain interested in the 25-year-old, while Fulham monitored him before winning promotion to the Premier League.
Blackburn Rovers and Aberdeen have long been keen on McGeouch and reports have suggested Bristol City are also in the running to sign him.
Meanwhile, manager Steve McClaren says he does not expect QPR to make many signings this summer.
