QPR have confirmed the departure of Julio Cesar, who has agreed a move to Benfica.
The 34-year-old Brazil goalkeeper’s Rangers contract was due to expire in 2016 but he has not been in the club’s plans for more than a year and has left Loftus Road by mutual consent.
Despite a host of reports of him being close to joining various clubs since the end of the 2012-13 season, he was unable to secure a move before joining Toronto on loan earlier this year
Cesar, signed from Inter Milan in 2012, has not made a league appearance for QPR since April 2013.
