Bristol City 2 QPR 0

QPR were woeful at Ashton Gate, losing despite the home side playing most of the game with 10 men.

Nathan Baker was red-carded for a crude challenge on Josh Scowen just after the half-hour mark.

But Famara Diedhiou put Carabao Cup semi-finalists Bristol City in front in first-half injury time and Joe Bryan doubled their lead midway through the second half.

Both goals came as a result of sloppy QPR defending.

Diedhiou netted with a near-post header from Ryan Kent’s corner.

And Bryan pounced on the loose ball to score after keeper Alex Smithies had kept out Diedhiou’s shot.

Rangers boss Ian Holloway sent on target man Matt Smith at half-time in an attempt to capitalise on the numerical advantage.

The visitors did cause City some problems before the second goal, but overall it was a dismal QPR showing.
