QPR boss wants a decision from Baird

Harry Redknapp has told Chris Baird to make up his mind whether he wants to join QPR.

Baird, 31, has been training with Rangers and manager Redknapp expected to sign him several weeks ago.

The Northern Ireland international can sign after Monday’s transfer deadline as he is a free agent having left Fulham when his contract expired during the summer.

But Redknapp wants a decision from Baird and will look elsewhere unless the player accepts the offer he has been made by the club.

“He’s still here training. We’ve made him an offer. It’s up to Chris really whether he wants to take it,” said Redknapp.

“I think we need to know pretty soon. He can sign after the deadline because he’s out of work, but we need an answer really.

“We’ve made him a decent offer and I’d like to have him. He can play in four or five positions so would be good to have.”
