QPR are assessing the condition of top scorer Heidar Helguson in order to establish whether he can play a part in either of their two remaining matches of the season.
The Iceland forward has suffered a setback in his recovery from the groin problem which has plagued him throughout the campaign.
Surgery seemed to have cured the injury and Helguson returned to training, but he is now back in the treatment room and looks unlikely to feature against Stoke or Manchester City.
Manager Mark Hughes told West London Sport: “We’re not sure whether Heidar will play again this season. He’s got a little bit of irritation around the area where he had the operation.
“It [the surgery] helped him initially and Heidar being Heidar he was keen to come back and maybe did so too soon.
“It doesn’t look too serious, but we’ll have to keep an eye on it. We’ll know more in the next few days.”
