Mark Warburton believes Ilias Chair improving his decision-making is the key to the QPR midfielder’s development.
Chair has been widely touted as Rangers’ best emerging talent following the departures of Ebere Eze and Bright Osayi-Samuel.
Manager Warburton says the 23-year-old is “absolutely” developing in the way the club hoped he would.
Warburton added: “Ilias and I speak a lot. We have a lot of conversations and analysis and looking at games with him.
“It’s about making good decisions. That’s what separates good players from the outstanding players - they make good decisions at the right time.
“Don’t shoot from 35 yards. The probability of scoring is ludicrously low. So make good decisions; find the extra pass.
“He’s making a contribution and I’m delighted for him, but we do look at the occasions when he could have passed - where an extra pass in the box could have created something.”
Chair is QPR’s top scorer this season, with seven goals, and has scored in both their past two matches.
“Ilias is developing his game and there’s no doubt he’s done really well. But he knows he has to keep pushing really hard,” Warburton said.
