QPR boss Harry Redknapp wants in-form striker Charlie Austin to aim for the 20-goal mark this season.
Austin has scored four goals in three matches, taking his tally for the campaign to six and prompting calls for the Rangers striker to be given chance for England.
And Redknapp believes the former Poole Town player can continue to make an impact in the top flight.
He said: “His target has got to be as near to 20 goals as he can this year. If he does that then he’s proved that he’s a Premier League goalscorer.
“You’ve got to work hard and Charlie’ a good lad – a bit of a throwback really. He gets on with it, comes in every day and wants to train.
“He never complains. He just enjoys being a footballer and is very easy to manage. I wish they [footballers] were all like him.”
Rangers face Newcastle at St James’ Park later today and Redknapp insists they can approach the game with some confidence.
“Newcastle are doing great but hopefully we can get a result,” he said.
“The players are in good spirits at the moment. We’ve been playing well and I think we can stay up.”
