QPR boss set to hand debuts to young duo

QPR manager Harry Redknapp is set to hand debuts to youngsters Coll Donaldson and Michael Petrasso this weekend.

Defender Donaldson, 19, has been told he will start Saturday’s game at Barnsley, while Canadian winger Petrasso will be among the substitutes and is likely to make his first senior appearance for the R’s.

Donaldson was signed from Scottish club Livingston in January and was not expected to feature for the first team this season.

But with a play-off place already sealed and Clint Hill struggling with illness, Redknapp wants to rest Richard Dunne and give Donaldson a chance to show what he can do.

Petrasso, also 19, has had spells on loan with Oldham and Coventry this season and recently signed a three-year contract at Loftus Road.

Meanwhile, Benoit Assou-Ekotto has undergone scan on a knee problem and will miss the trip to Barnsley along with Hill and Danny Simpson, who is carrying a knock.
