Rangers boss rules out Lampard move
Harry Redknapp insists there is no possibility of Frank Lampard joining QPR.
Rangers boss Redknapp has been widely linked with a move for his nephew, whose Chelsea contract expires this summer.
But he believes Lampard will stay at Stamford Bridge and dismissed speculation the England midfielder, 35, could be heading to Loftus Road.
“You’re not going to get Frank Lampard. It’s nonsense,” he said.
“We couldn’t afford Frank – he’s still in the England squad. I’m sure he will stay at Chelsea anyway.”
Redknapp has been linked with several other players following QPR’s promotion back to the Premier League and will this week discuss transfer targets with chairman Tony Fernandes and chief executive Philip Beard.
“I’ve never discussed players with Tony, Phil or anybody, because until Saturday we didn’t know if we would be in the Championship or the Premier League,” said Redknapp.
