QPR boss reassures fans over transfers
Chris Ramsey says he is keen to reassure QPR fans that the club are urgently pursuing a number of possible signings ahead of the transfer window closing.
Rangers are particularly short of centre-backs and are looking to tie up a deal to sign United States international Tim Ream from Bolton.
A fee has been agreed for the 27-year-old and Ramsey believes Ream will complete a move to Loftus Road.
But the Rangers head coach insists a number of other options are being explored in case the deal does not go through.
“There are other targets – just so our fans can be aware that we’re not putting all our eggs in one basket,” Ramsey said.
“We realise the season has started now and we’re in an urgent situation.
“It’s important that we’re looking around for other targets if one situation doesn’t come in our favour.”
Rangers are also hoping to sign a goalkeeper and talks are ongoing with Southend United over a possible deal for Daniel Bentley.
“It’s well documented that we haven’t got fortunes to spend. We probably need two or three more players,” Ramsey added.
