QPR boss in no hurry to sell Campbell
QPR boss Harry Redknapp says he would be happy for DJ Campbell to stay at Loftus Road.
The 31-year-old scored 10 goals during a recent loan spell at Ipswich, whose manager Mick McCarthy has been chasing a permanent deal.
West London Sport reported that Crystal Palace’s former R’s boss Ian Holloway and Hull’s Steve Bruce – who previously signed Campbell for Blackpool and Birmingham respectively – are also keen.
Holloway has since confirmed his interest, while Bruce made an approach after seemingly missing out on the signing of Sunderland forward Fraizer Campbell, who is set to join Cardiff.
Rangers striker Campbell has been told he can leave as he is unlikely to get regular first-team football.
“There have been several asking about him and I understand why,” said Redknapp.
“I’ve not worked with him for long but have found him to be a fantastic fella and it’s no coincidence that managers he’s played for want to sign him again.
“It wouldn’t be the worst thing in the world if he stays. I’ll speak to him and if he feels he wants to go and play every week then we’ll try to help him.”
Meanwhile, Redknapp says he is unsure whether he will be able to sign Jake Livermore on loan from Tottenham.
