Chair fit for Reading game, says QPR boss

QPR midfielder Ilias Chair

Mark Warburton says Ilias Chair is fit and available for QPR’s game at Reading on Saturday.

Chair has been on international duty with Morocco, whose squad had to be escorted out of Guinea after a military coup in the West African country.

The Moroccan delegation had been trapped in their hotel, where gunfire could be heard.

After returning to London, Chair trained on Friday and is set to be included in the Rangers squad for this weekend’s match.

Manager Warburton said: “He’s mentally very strong. He’s a young guy that loves playing football.

“He got back safely and trained very well yesterday, so he’ll be fine and available for selection.”

Warburton will need to assess the fitness of a number of other players, some of whom, such as Lyndon Dykes, have also been away on international duty.

Andre Gray is in contention for a debut following his loan move from Watford.

The R’s are still without Lee Wallace, who is recovering from a hamstring injury.
