QPR boss furious with referee Probert
Neil Warnock slated the performance of referee Lee Probert following QPR’s 1-1 draw at Swansea.
The R’s boss was furious that Danny Graham’s 14th-minute opener was allowed to stand despite the striker handling the ball before firing into the net.
“He [Probert] was consisent from the first minute to the last,” said Warnock.
“I spoke to him and he said he had seen the handball but decided it wasn’t deliberate, which makes it even worse for me.
“It’s the big decisions that we want to get right. We want goal-line technology to come in and help referees and linesmen eliminate mistakes, but they have to know the rules.”
Swansea manager Brendan Rodgers also criticised Probert, who ignored the home side’s appeals for a second-half penalty after Graham went down under a challenge from Armand Traore.
“I thought that summed up Lee’s performance, which was interesting to say the least,” said Rodgers.
“It was a clear penalty. Traore fouled Danny and when that happens you expect to get a penalty.”
