Luke Amos remains on course to be ready for the start of QPR’s pre-season campaign.
The 24-year-old midfielder’s season was cut short in October when he suffered anterior cruciate ligament damage against Bournemouth.
He suffered a similar injury prior to his move to west London from Tottenham.
Amos has been back in light training and his recovery has been going well.
“He’s on course. With ACL injuries it’s literally about week-to-week progress,” said Rangers manager Mark Warburton.
“He’s been out on the grass and involved in some ball work, which is great to see.
“Luke has more work to do but he’s an outstanding young professional. I’ve never met anyone with more focus and desire than Luke Amos.
“We had body fat tests and his numbers were quite staggering - how hard he’s working through this injury to get back to the first team.
“I think he’s on-track. I hope in July we see him come back to us. He was having his best run for the club when he got injured.
“There’s no doubt he’s a very talented player and we look forward to having him back.”
Meanwhile, QPR appear to be close to deal to keep Charlie Austin and are on the verge of completing the permanent signing of Sam Field.
Todd Kane faces the axe, with the club looking to bring in right-back to replace him.
And chief executive Lee Hoos has told West London Sport he would like to see safe standing installed at Rangers.
