Mark Hughes has declared his support for Djibril Cisse after the player was subjected to racist abuse on Twitter.
On Thursday afternoon the QPR manager was made aware of the insults aimed at Cisse following the French striker’s move to Loftus Road from Lazio.
“I’ll speak to him about it. I haven’t had an opportunity to do so before now,” said Hughes.
“One of the negatives of social media is that it gives people the opportunity to hide, be anonymous and able to spout vitriol.
“It’s unpleasant and unnecessary but as we know there are individuals like that and always will be.
“These people can’t be allowed to hide. They may be under false names or whatever but they will be found and eventually brought to book.”
