QPR interested in Hefele and sign youngster Omar

QPR are interested in Huddersfield Town defender Michael Hefele and have completed the signing of teenager Ali Omar.

German Hefele, 27, was signed from Dynamo Dresden in 2016 and has made 39 league appearances for Huddersfield.

Only two of those have come since the Yorkshire club were promoted to the Premier League in 2017.

As Hefele’s first-team prospects remain slim, Rangers have enquired about his availability.

They turned their attention to him after PSV Eindhoven made an approach to Trent Sainsbury, who had been lined up for a move to Loftus Road.

Meanwhile, defender Omar, 18, has joined on a one-year deal and will initially play for QPR’s development side.

West London Sport revealed that Omar, a free agent after rejecting a new contract at Stevenage, was on trial with the R’s and subsequently revealed he was going to be signed.

  • I read regularly we need a striker & maybe we do but I believe our biggest requirements are within the defence. Before we go all out to score 5goals every game we need to ensure we stop them going past us. Our striker's are good quality they need service to deliver & that comes with confidence. Currently we have no confidence in our defence & that holds our whole game back. Fix the whole in the bucket then it will hold water
