Neil Warnock insisted the decision to deny QPR what seemed a perfectly good goal cost them victory against West Brom.
Shane Long netted an 81st-minute equaliser for Albion at Loftus Road after Rangers missed a number of chances to add to Heidar Helguson’s first-half opener.
Shaun Wright-Phillips having an effort ruled out for offside was also a pivotal moment. Replays suggested his volley while the R’s were 1-0 up should have been allowed to stand.
“The linesman was in a great position and I can’t understand why he didn’t see it,” said Warnock.
“We’ve missed out again because of a major decision. It was a superb volley and if it had been 2-0 I don’t think there would have been a way back for West Brom.
“You rely on the right decisions being made, and it makes it even more frustrating to then concede a goal – especially after creating so many chances.
“It’s so disappointing it feels like we lost the game, but that’s the Premier League.”
