Aberdeen boss McInnes annoyed by McKenna pursuit
Derek McInnes has criticised QPR over their pursuit of Aberdeen defender Scott McKenna, the Daily Record reports.
The R’s have had offers for the Scotland international rejected and are among a number of clubs attempting to sign him ahead of Thursday’s transfer deadline.
Nottingham Forest have also had offers turned down and the Daily Record reports that Sheffield Wednesday and Bristol City are interested too.
McKenna has had a transfer request rejected and travelled with the Aberdeen squad for Thursday’s Europa League game in Croatia against HNK Rijeka.
And Aberdeen boss McInnes is deeply unhappy about the pre-deadline approaches for the player.
McInnes said: “Clubs have had every opportunity to put their best foot forward over the past few weeks.
“Any club who is trying to deal so close to the game shows a total disregard for us, on the eve of such an important game.
“It is hardly ideal preparation. It is a Europa League game, a very important game, and these clubs have had the whole summer to do a deal and there is a degree of anger, frustration and contempt towards these clubs for trying to put their best foot forward now.”
Meanwhile, QPR midfielder Massimo Luongo is set to join Sheffield Wednesday.

Other teams trying to buy your players? You must be fuming. I don’t think that’s ever happened before, has it? Plus we’ve all known about it for over a week, so hardly on the “eve” of a big match, is it?
I bet Derek has always sat in his office politely waiting for out-of-contract players to come in and ask to sign.
Grow up, McInnes. Welcome to everyday life.
