QPR midfielder Josh Scowen is set for a swift return to action after a minor knee problem and Darnell Furlong has returned to light training, but Olamide Shodipo faces another lengthy spell on the sidelines.
Scowen missed the recent 0-0 draw at Birmingham but has since been assessed and is expected to be available for the game against Bolton after the international break.
However, winger Shodipo, who missed much of last season with a knee injury, is now likely to be out for four months following surgery on a torn thigh muscle.
QPR’s head of medical services Dr Imtiaz Ahmad told the club website: “Mide had a significant tear to his thigh muscle, which required surgery last week.
“He’s doing OK after the operation but will be out for approximately four months.”
Furlong, meanwhile, is continuing his rehabilitation following a knee injury he suffered during pre-season.
Ahmad said: “Darnell is doing really well. He’s already out running.
“It has been six weeks since his surgery and he will be stepping up his pitch work in the coming weeks.
“We are hopeful he will be available to the manager by the end of October.”
