QPR boss Steve McClaren said his players proved a point by bouncing back from a poor recent run to win at Reading.
Toni Leistner’s second-half goal – his first for Rangers – gave them a deserved victory at the Madejski Stadium.
It came three days after a 3-0 loss at Swansea, which was their third straight defeat.
“I’m absolutely delighted after the result at Swansea. We had a point to prove and we’ve done that,” McClaren said.
“The players were very disappointed after Saturday and they’ve come together, worked so hard for each other.
“They were strong, aggressive, on the front foot and very organised.
“There’s a great togetherness is the squad and it showed tonight.”
Rangers are back in action on Saturday when they face Derby County at Loftus Road.
“Now we have to recover and go again against Derby,” McClaren added.
“It was a great effort by the whole team tonight.”
