QPR waiting for news on Willock injury
QPR are still waiting for firm news on the extent of Chris Willock’s new hamstring injury.
Willock, who needed surgery after suffering a hamstring tear in March, limped off shortly after scoring in the 1-0 win at Sheffield United on Tuesday.
The injury is to the opposite leg of the one damaged in March.
Rangers expect to receive scan results for Willock and Seny Dieng early on Thursday evening.
Goalkeeper Dieng is nursing a thigh problem – also on the opposite leg to the thigh injury which sidelined him last season.
Dieng has told Rangers boss Mick Beale that he wants to play in Friday’s home match against Reading. Willock will certainly miss the game.
Speaking on Thursday afternoon, Beale said Willock was “quite optimistic” that the new injury is not overly serious but that “we just don’t know” until the scan results are available.
