QPR assess new Lynch injury
QPR are assessing an injury Joel Lynch picked up during their EFL Cup tie against Swindon.
His debut ended when the defender went off during the second half of the game at Loftus Road, where Rangers prevailed in a penalty shoot-out to take their place in the second round.
Manager Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink said Lynch suffered an abdominal injury unrelated to the hamstring problem the player was affected by during pre-season.
Lynch, signed from Huddersfield this summer, is expected to be unavailable for Sunday’s league match against Cardiff.
“He’s got a problem with his abdomen. I don’t know yet how much of a problem it is, but it’s not to do with the hamstring injury he had,” Hasselbaink said.
