Warburton hopeful De Wijs will soon be available for QPR
Mark Warburton is hopeful that recent signing Jordy de Wijs will soon be able to play for QPR.
The Dutch defender, who has been nursing a calf problem, is yet to feature since joining Rangers from Hull City and will again be unavailable for this weekend’s game against Blackburn.
But he is scheduled to train with the squad on Friday and manager Warburton believes De Wijs is close to returning to action.
“I hope so. It’s close,” said Warburton, who is expected to include new signing Sam Field in the squad.
De Wijs has not played a league match since the end of October.
His only outing since then came in Hull’s FA Cup game against Stevenage on 29 November.
Warburton said: “The type of injury he’s got is a niggling one. It’s frustrating.
“But I think he’s out on the grass with us tomorrow and hopefully he’s very, very close now.”

I agree with Robert 100% we ARE good enough for the playoffs but still not up to the premiership. Why do we keep buying unfit players, it happens time & time again.

I was very critical of the manager and the coaching staff who in my opinion should have sorted the defensive problems out last season and we are still a sieve but hopefully the new signings will stop this. My regrets are the backs seem very weak in their positioning for defending.
But I think the signings made will make us aim for possible playoff place, so good luck to all. Chaz back where he belongs.
Let’s sign our good players on long contracts so we don’t get shafted again !!
