QPR forward Heidar Helguson has been referred to a specialist and looks likely to remain sidelined for at least a couple more weeks.
The Icelander, 34, played for much of the campaign while nursing an ongoing groin complaint but has not featured since being substituted during the FA Cup defeat against Chelsea in January.
Rangers were hopeful that Helguson would make a quick return to action but he has continued to struggle with the problem.
He may be able to train with the rest of the squad later this week but boss Mark Hughes does not expect him to be available for Saturday’s vital game against fellow strugglers Bolton.
“He’s still a number of weeks away yet,” said Hughes. “He’s progressing though and has upped his training.”
Helguson is QPR’s top scorer this season with nine goals.
