QPR have confirmed that goalkeeper Alex Smithies has signed a new deal with the club.
Smithies had 18 months on his previous contract and had consistently indicated that he would be happy to re-sign.
He has now agreed an extension until the summer of 2020.
The 26-year-old signed in August 2015 from Huddersfield Town and made his 50th QPR appearance against his former club on Saturday.
Speaking to the official Rangers website, he said: “I want QPR to make strides forward over the next three-and-a-half years, and I want to be a part of that.
“The club have shown they want to sign young, up-and-coming players who want to kick on, and I feel like I still fall into that category.”
