QPR have sacked Mark Hughes.
He has lost his job as manager after a disastrous run that has seen Rangers fail to win a league game this season despite another summer of huge spending.
The final straw was the 3-1 defeat at home to fellow strugglers Southampton at the weekend, after which angry fans made it clear they wanted him out.
Hughes, who did not manage a single away victory during his time in charge, was consistently backed by his friend Tony Fernandes, who brought him to Loftus Road 11 months ago.
R’s chairman Fernandes was keen to give Hughes more time but was fighting a losing battle to keep him.
Support among the club’s other major shareholders, which had been dwindling, evaporated following Saturday’s debacle.
Coaches Mark Bowen and Eddie Niedzwiecki have been placed in charge for tomorrow’s game against Manchester United.
