Hughes believes strikers can save QPR
QPR manager Mark Hughes insists his expensive strikeforce can fire the club to Premier League safety.
Rangers have won only one league game since Hughes’ arrival and face a tough run-in as they bid to avoid an instant return to the Championship.
But Hughes believes deadline-day signings Djibril Cisse and Bobby Zamora are capable of scoring goals against any team in the division.
He said: “The more those two play in the same side and the team gets used to their runs and the kind of passes they want then the better they’ll become.
“On paper we look like we’ve got an attacking threat and a cutting edge. We’ve just got to make sure we’re able to exploit their talents and keep the back door shut as well.
“If we can keep a number of clean sheets from now until the end of the season, I feel with the quality we have up front we will create chances in every game we play, irrespective of the opposition.”
Cisse has scored twice since his move to west London and is set to face his former club Liverpool at Loftus Road on Wednesday.
