Hughes adamant new-look QPR will deliver
QPR returned to Loftus Road for a training session this morning with manager Mark Hughes insisting his new-look side will prove their worth.
Hopes were high at the club following another batch of signings, only for Saturday’s eagerly awaited Premier League opener at home to Swansea to end in a humiliating 5-0 defeat.
The result left Hughes stunned, but the Welshman remains adamant that Rangers are a much stronger outfit than last season and will avoid a relegation battle this time around.
He said: “No-one at this club expects us to be struggling this year. If we get our fundamentals right then we’ll be fine, because talent-wise we’ve got a lot of ability – more ability than we had last year.
“We’ve got to bring everyone together and make sure they all understand their responsibilities and what’s required of them. There are a number of things we need to do better.
“It’s about making sure that as a group – and we’re a stronger group than last year – we bounce back quickly.”

I am one of those who were not happy when NW was sacked. I have got used to MH without being impressed. I now have serious doubts about his decision making. To bring on SWP as a defender was just plain mad. Why was Zamora on the bench if he has knee trouble? Why leave substitutions until it is far too late to save the day? Why play with only one striker at home? I hope I am wrong but the way things are going we will be looking at a new boss before Christmas.
