Huddersfield defender Michael Hefele has rejected QPR and joined Nottingham Forest.
Rangers were keen to bring in the German, 27, after missing out on Trent Sainsbury, who joined PSV Eindhoven.
They have also missed out on Hefele, who wanted a long-term deal and has signed a three-year contract at Forest.

This is becoming a worrying trend at QPR. We put our necks out and then get it chopped off. There is too much instability at the club and it is highlighted by the number of players we fail to sign, year in and year out. Since the catastrophe of Mark Hughes, we have paid a heavy price of attracting players. And with little and no money to spend, plus being told we are a "Selling Club" for now by Les Ferdinand, we look like a boat with a small hole in the hull and without a rudder to steer out dangerous waters. I did start thinking we were over the worse after Fair Play debacle, but I will see what happens upto 5pm today and beyond. Good luck Steve McLaren. Plus no sign of a new stadium being mentioned, or decent sponsorships, we will have to cut our cloth accordingly.
Luke Freeman saga goes on and as stated, he may go as we are a Selling club.... Lets hope we can gel the youngsters with the experienced players we have. Plus why an earth did we let Wheeler go on loan, when we so short of decent players as it is!!...
The honest truth is that players are wary! We used to be able to draw great players in, but even with doing our business so publicly, we never get anywhere. Maybe we should do all our dealing privately and not make other clubs aware of the opportunities, which they then steal from under our noses. Keep our powder dry and do business quietly and not publicly. Time for a change of policy in terms of signing on players, or we will indeed struggle for the foreseeable future....
Is no one else asking themselves WHY we keep getting snubbed by players we try to get, we are fast becoming the laughing stock of the championship, what exactly does our scouting unit do???,Gary Penrice and co. have thus far brought us 1 player, not exactly inspiring, but then again who amongst Les ferdinand,Tony Fernandes etc is inspiring.Another season treading water or maybe even sinking.!!
