Holloway admits QPR were ‘pathetic’ at City
Ian Holloway described QPR’s performance as “pathetic” after they were beaten 2-1 by Bristol City.
Rangers are still not completely safe from relegation after their defeat at Ashton Gate, where substitute Idrissa Sylla pulled a goal back for them in injury time.
“It was a pathetic performance from us from start to finish,” said manager Holloway.
“I’ve been proud of my team and the way we’ve been playing. Even in the last couple of defeats we played really well.
“Too many had a bad game. Normally seven or eight have a good game and get the others through. It’s probably the worst performance they’ve given me.
“It’s inexplicable.If you get a free-kick and you’re 2-0 down, you know the next goal’s absolutely vital and you should run to the ball and play it as quickly as you can. We let a Bristol City player pick it and walk back with it twice.
“Where’s the urgency. Where’s the fight? They didn’t even need to work to get their goals. I expected a change in the impetus [in the second half], but we went out like a wet firework.”
Holloway admitted he is still anxious to get one more win in order to ensure Championship survival.
Rangers have been stuck on 50 points, losing four matches in a row, and their latest loss leaves them still looking over their shoulders – as teams below continue to pick up points.
“I’m sure we’ll be all right, but ain’t over yet, no way is it over,” said Holloway.
“We do need another win. We have done for the last four games and it’s frustrating. Welcome to the Championship, you ain’t done it yet.
“Anybody can beat anyone in this division. Watch out because anything can happen. Apart from Rotherham, they [teams at the bottom] aren’t going to give up.”

IH ripped into the team after the match, however what does he expect when every match he makes a minimum of 5 changes .How are ever going to become a TEAM, when its never the same 11,so before you rip the teams heads off mr holloway take a good long hard look in the mirror and ask yourself who is really at fault?

We have a young ,skilful, visionary midfield that is bypassed in every game by playing the long ball up to Smith. Is this the style we are planning to play next season? I should hope not!!
What has happened to Eberechi Eze? played well against Wolves after coming on as a sub but then on his debut got injured, hasn’t been mentioned since but certainly sounded an exciting prospect. And what of Olamide Shodipo? he was one of only a few that looked good under JFH. Not having the required striker in place is turning the end of the season into a missed opportunity.
Hopefully the new scouting system will identify our targets nice and early.
