QPR manager Ian Holloway admitted his frustration after his team again failed to get the points they need to guarantee their Championship survival.
The 2-1 loss at home to Sheffield Wednesday was Rangers’ fifth defeat in a row and left them stuck on 50 points with three matches of the season remaining.
But Holloway is convinced they can follow in the footsteps of clubs like promotion-chasing Wednesday from next season.
“It’s just very frustrating. It would be nice to get three points and leave us with only six to play for,” Holloway said.
“If we can get three in the next game at Brentford then everybody can just breath and we can start again.
“Did we deserve to lose? Honestly? No. I think that’s a draw, but unfortunately they saw it out and we didn’t.
“The boys keep going and we’ve got three games to put this season to bed so we can catch a team like Wednesday (next season).
“We’ve looked dangerous and we just need to get the goals to get the points to get us over the line and earn the right to be a Championship side.
“That’s no mean feat. There are more famous, or almost as famous, clubs that have gone down two divisions before they’ve built – look at Southampton.
“Sheffield Wednesday fans believe they’re on the way back. How long were they in the abyss? I believe we’re on our way back.”

What happened lost again players over paid again do they deserve to where the shirt
Please tell me that IH is NOT suggesting we should drop down a league before we can start winning a game, mind you that would explain his recent tactics of changing a minimum of 5 players every game.
