Holloway: I’ll take that performance all day long
Ian Holloway praised his players for the fighting spirit they showed during their 2-1 defeat at Sheffield United.
The QPR boss was unhappy with their defending in the build up to the home side’s two goals, the first of which came from a corner.
But Luke Freeman pulled a goal back for Rangers and the Blades were left hanging on.
Holloway said: “I want them to believe we can get points, and we’ve got to stop making mistakes – we’ve made a mistake there for the corner.
“Unfortunately we’re not seeing it through. But I’ll take the performance all day long, I’ll take the spirit, I’ll take the fightback – I’ll take all of that.
“They kept going and we looked bright when we made some changes. We caused them all sorts of problems.
“We made mistakes but we still showed the character I want.”
The result left Rangers 15th in the Championship table, 10 points clear of the relegation zone.
“We’re a long way from being the team I want us to be but I believe we’re getting closer to it,” Holloway added.
