QPR star Eze ‘will get better and better’

Steve McClaren has predicted Ebere Eze will “get better and better” after the youngster’s bright start to the season for QPR.

The 20-year-old forward was picked up by Rangers two years ago after being released by Millwall.

After impressing while on loan at Wycombe last season, he made an impact when given a chance in Rangers’ first team during the second half of the campaign.

Since then he has signed long-term contract at Loftus Road and been given the iconic number 10 shirt previously worn by QPR legends Rodney Marsh and Stan Bowles as well as the likes of Simon Stainrod, John Byrne, Roy Wegerle and Adel Taarabt.

And Eze enhanced his growing reputation with his performance and goal against Sheffield United at the weekend.

“The club have got him from nowhere. How he was released by Millwall I don’t know,” said Rangers manager McClaren.

“The club have got to take credit and the coaches here have got to take credit in terms of his progress.

“Also he deserves credit. He’s got self-belief now and you can see that when he plays. This boy will get better and better.”

Meanwhile, QPR are set to confirm the signing of veteran defender Angel Rangel, who is being brought in as cover while Darnell Furlong is injured.
