Helguson still in QPR manager’s thoughts
QPR boss Mark Hughes says Heidar Helguson is still likely to play an important role despite the big-money signings of Bobby Zamora and Djibril Cisse.
Veteran forward Helguson is Rangers’ top scorer this season with nine goals but faces stiff competition for his place and is also managing on ongoing groin problem.
Hughes, though, insists the Icelander is still very much part of his first-team plans.
He said: “Heidar’s injured at the moment so he’s not available, but when he’s fit he’ll come into the equation. We’ll need a different skills-set against different opposition.
“We’ve invested and what I wanted was strikers who complement each other and I think we’ve got that. I’m very pleased with the strikers we’ve got.”

It’s ‘complement’!! We at QPR don’t want strikers who stand around ‘complimenting’ each other – they’ve got goals to score looool
