Hasselbaink: QPR deserved at least a point
Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink insisted QPR did not deserve to lose against Sheffield Wednesday.
Rangers, unbeaten in their previous five matches, went down 1-0 at Hillsborough, where Gary Hooper scored a first-half winner for the Owls.
The visitors almost equalised when Tjaronn Chery was denied by a goal-line clearance in injury time, while Nedum Onuoha would have scored but for a fine save from stand-in keeper Cameron Dawson.
“We deserved at least a point,” said R’s boss Hasselbaink.
“When you come to Hillsborough you know you are playing against a good side and will be under pressure.
“We had that pressure but with all that pressure they didn’t really work my goalkeeper.
“But nor did we create as much. There was a great save from the keeper and that wins them the game.
“In the first half we played really well, quietened their crowd, but we conceded an unfortunate goal.
“The performance was good. It’s just a shame we couldn’t get something positive out of the game. It was not our day.”
The result saw QPR drop to 13th in the Championship table.
They are at home to Brentford in a west London derby on Friday evening.
