Harry: Zamora and Remy will keep QPR up

Manager Harry Redknapp still believes QPR will avoid relegation – with a strike force of Bobby Zamora and Loic Remy holding the key.

The injury-plagued duo have yet to appear together for the beleaguered Hoops, but both played a part in the 2-0 home defeat against Manchester United.

Zamora played 55 minutes before being withdrawn with an ankle problem.

Remy replaced the former Fulham striker as he continued his rehabilitation from a groin strain.

“This result leaves us bottom today, but we won’t be bottom at the end of the season,” Redknapp declared.

“I see two forwards now that can start scoring some goals for me. That’s the problem – we don’t score any goals.

“I think Mark [Hughes] would still be the manager if Zamora and Andy Johnson hadn’t got injured at the start of the season – that cost him dearly.

“Bobby is as good as anyone in the country at holding the ball up and I think Remy will be a real player alongside him.

“Between them, with 11 games to go, I can see them doing some damage to some teams.”

Whether Redknapp can get the pair on the pitch together in the near future is unclear, though, as Zamora now has an ankle injury to recover from.

“Unfortunately Bobby’s now done his ankle,” Redknapp added.

“If his ankle isn’t too bad then he and Remy could be a good partnership. We need to get a team together on Monday, bed them in and work with them.

“I think there’s enough there to give us an opportunity. I’m still optimistic. You probably think I’m mad, but I don’t think I am.”
