Harry Redknapp has suggested that QPR want £2m if they are to loan Loic Remy out for the season.
Newcastle are among a number of clubs showing an interest in the France striker, who expects to leave Rangers in the wake of their relegation last season.
QPR want £8m to sell Remy, although a year-long loan has also been mooted.
But R’s boss Redknapp warned: “If he’s going on loan then someone’s got to [pay].
“We paid about £8m for him. If someone wants to loan him for a year, then if you buy him for £8m and give him a four-year contract he’d cost you £2m a year.
“So if someone wants him for a year, they’re entitled to pay £2m for him if they want to loan him.
“They’re getting a striker, make no mistake, who will get between 15 and 20 goals this season if he goes to a Premier League club.”
